1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible
Flashback to one of our 2013 participants
Purchased in 1991 from Scranton, Pennsylvania in fairly good condition, the floor boards and trunk floor were replaced as well as the right rocker. The car was built in Tarrytown, New York and was born with a 348 engine, power glide transmission, power brakes, power steering and cashmere blue paint. The convertible top is white. The body was removed from the chassis and placed on a rotisserie to replace and repair panels. The body chassis was sandblasted and primed with epoxy primer. The engine, power glide differential and chassis were completely rebuilt with new parts. The interior has been completely replaced and exterior parts were buffed and polished, or re-chromed. The owner chose the 1958 convertible as his restoration project because of its many aesthetically unique and distinctive qualities. After 5 years of researching, analyzing, and gathering parts, the restoration began and took approximately 5 more years to complete. The car has been on the road for nearly a year now. It runs and drives with ease and has been a restoration project that has been enjoyed by the entire family.
