1950 Healey Silverstone #E-73
Flashback to one of our 2013 participants

The Healey Silverstone was the first production sports car built by Donald Healey. In total, 104 cars and 2 prototypes were produced. The Healey Silverstone, named after the racing circuit, was a pugnacious, cycle-winged, bare-to the bones sports car, aimed primarily at participants in the amateur or club-racing scene that was re-emerging in post Second World War Britain. It is the only known Silverstone to exist in Canada. The car was brought to Canada from Belfast in the 1950’s by Struan Erskine via tramp steamer and was later acquired by the Smith family after Smith Sr. spotted the car behind a gas station in Clarkson while visiting Toronto in 1963. In the mid-1960s, they began the restoration process that wasn’t to be completed until 1986. In 2012 the car was purchased after almost 50 years ownership by the Smith family. Under the new ownership it has been refurbished to its original glory with many of its unique features left untouched.
