1956 Dodge Lancer Custom Royal D 500
Flashback to one of our 2014 participants
The Current owner’s bought our car in Lusk, Wyoming USA in 1990. The car had sat in a pasture field since the late 1960’s being used as a parts car, having many parts removed over that period of time. The complete rear axle, carburetor, seats, power steering, generator and power brakes were removed plus many other small parts. Over the next 13 years all these original parts had to be collected and assembled (on the car) from 9 States and 3 Provinces. The original motor, a 315 Hemi and automatic transmission were re-built by Art Apps of Oxford Engines, Woodstock Ontario. The rear axle, a four pinion was re-built along with the other parts by Rick Timm and the owner. The car was completely dis-assembled and re-assembled again having each part installed on the car. Rick Timm primed the car and Terry Demerling, of Demerlings Garage in Clifford Ontario painted the car the original 3 tones, base coat, clear coat and paint. The car was then upholstered by Brian Makcrow of Owen Sound Ontario. The final finishing touch was the White Wall tires by Diamond Back.
